What now? Well, lots of things hopefully.

  1. First up, the BQ book! It will be available in March. Cover is shown above.

  2. A new online comic that will debut here in May. It won’t be BQ but I guarantee its awesomeness. I’ll be rocking the Tues/Thurs schedule too.
  3. A secret Bear Quest multimedia thing.
  4. Then, Bear Quest 2!! It’ll be here before you know it. I have so much insanity in store, if you only knew…

Many many things planned, so come back often. Or just go Play Bear Quest again right now!

This duo are for a secret project that I’m collaborating on. Actually it’s not all that secret, but I’m going to pretend it is because there’s a fair chance I won’t get to it anytime soon. However, more coming!

Further concepts from the “slightly too cheesy” take on Torture Squid villains. Obvious next step follows, a fungus creature done up “Monstrous Manual” style. Stats (not) forthcoming.

These guys were a concept for Torture Squid. Dudes who worship fungus you know, but I went too D&D with it. I still like ‘em though.

What’s this? Could it be the stirrings of a new Miner book? I think so.

Ain't it Cool News review

A really cool review of Bear Quest went up at Ain’t it Cool News a couple days back. Much thanks to Ambush Bug who had great things like this to say:

“BEAR QUEST is as creative as it is fun…The way creator Zach Taylor understands both the comics and video game media is exceptional.”

Hey, I have blurbs to quote now. On my way up! Here’s the link to the the rest of it (scroll down a bit).

My First Squid

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Was looking through some old files, and found the fan art I did for Jeff Vandermeer’s City of Saints & Madmen. It’s a King Squid, I think maybe the first squid I ever drew. I still rather like it, sort of a forerunner to working on The Torture Squid.

Clown Revolution

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

The Clowns have weaponized.
That’s right. This image is part of the story I have in Awesome 2: Awesomer published by Top Shelf in May (next month!). I’m super excited to be involved. Check out the Indie Spinner Rack podcast, the dudes who made this happen.

It’s also a sort of prequel story to The Miner and the Cave That Ate Time. This colorized version is also available as a poster in the Gallery section.
